What’s the difference?

Great question! Both coaching and consulting are focused on achieving goals, but through different structures.

In general, coaching is a 1-on-1 confidential relationship focused on helping an individual achieve his/her goals. A coach typically works with a client 3-5 hours a month and does not take responsibility for the execution of agreed upon action steps.

Consulting is usually more project-oriented, often working with multiple people and teams to help an organization achieve a specific goal. Consultants can bring content expertise and methodologies to help craft the solution and may manage the project. Consultants often take direct responsibility for specific action items and deliverables. Consultants typically work with clients a minimum of 20 hours a month.
